Liz Daley skins Glacier des Améthystes, Chamonix, France. It was a bitter cold day with negative double-digits Fahrenheit temps. Liz is in diesel truck-mode, breaking trail with head down, hood up, and about to commit to a few hours in the shade. Powder that had been fresh the day before was scoured by wind overnight and so we worked to find sheltered riding while staying off of fresh, sensitive wind slabs. Eventually we made our way down the Switzerland side of the mountain, cooked by candlelight at a climbers hut, then toured out to Les Montets the following afternoon.
